Like many specialty providers, I am not paneled with any insurance providers. Let me explain why and my philosophy regarding this.
I have quickly realized that these insurance companies do not care about a person’s wellbeing or about tailoring care to you.. Before I get on my soapbox about all of this, the bottom line is, I had to make the very difficult decision of not accepting insurance and putting the client’s needs first, always. I am the clinician who went through way too many years of school and have over 10 years of experience, not the insurance company! Okay, maybe I got on my soapbox just a little, so I’ll stop now!
Lastly, I feel mental health is an investment and you have to have “skin in the game”. Yet, it’s really hard to invest in yourself, huh? If it’s something for the business? Done. If the kids need the latest gaming system? Done. If you want to go to that fancy new restaurant in town? Done. But, investing in myself? Hmmm… I don’t know about all of that… Bottom line is YOU and YOUR mental health ARE worth it!
I want you to be motivated to change and find the healing you are seeking. Just like other forms of investments, therapy can yield a great return on investment. I charge the rates that will ensure I am able to give you the specialized and individualized care you deserve. Tired, broke therapists do not give good therapy. Your life can look like everything you have ever dreamed of, you just need to be willing to put in the work. Let’s do this!

Empower with Esperanza is an out of network (OON) mental health provider. That means that I don’t bill insurance directly, but I can provide you with the documentation (a.k.a. superbill) to submit to your insurance company for them to reimburse you. Here’s how it works:
Call your insurance company and ask if you have out-of-network mental health benefits?
If they say yes, ask for all associated details. For example, do you have a deductible, can you choose any provider, and what percentage typically is reimbursed?
At the time of the session, you will pay your bill directly and then you will submit documentation to be reimbursed by your insurance. Just to be clear, I cannot make any guarantee that you’ll receive reimbursement from your insurance company but will help guide you through the process in any way I can.

Depends! Typically, I like to meet weekly during the first 1-2 months to gain momentum, and then we can drop to every other week as we see fit. I will provide my professional recommendation based on what I am seeing but the final decision will be yours. I am flexible and understand that each individual has their own personal circumstances that may affect how often they are able to attend therapy.
-
Again, it depends! There aren’t any hard and fast rules. It will depend on your symptoms, diagnosis (if any), what you’re seeking to work on, and how deep you want to go with everything. I am here to support you and whatever your situation calls for.

I specialize in offering online therapeutic services and therefore I do not currently have in-person services. Let me tell you a little more about how amazing online therapy is!
Online therapy is conducted through live video sessions (like being on FaceTime) via a secure connection. I will send you a link and either on your smartphone or your computer you will click on that link and boom, you’re with me! It’s super easy and convenient.
If you’re feeling unsure about online services, let me know, and we can have our consultation call through this means so you can get a feel for it and we can discuss your concerns!

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

The first step is to schedule a consultation call. The point of the free phone consultation is to briefly understand your goals for treatment and determine if I’m the right fit for you. At this time you can ask me any questions you may have as well as explore your goals for treatment. If we’re a fit, we will coordinate availability and get you scheduled. If I’m not the right fit for you, I will provide you with referrals to other providers or services that may be more effective in your particular situation.
